Hello i have two different drives, one for manjaro and the other for windows.

when i start up the computer, the grub boot loader is missing and it just boot straight to manjaro linux,

how do i get it to show grub and my windows installation.

i ran sudo update-grub this is the result

Make sure that the GRUB menu is visible, and that it leaves you with enough time to make an alternate selection. Look at your /etc/default/grub file. The first couple of lines should read as follows…

After editing and saving the file, run…

sudo update-grub

hello this works but the windows installation does not show

Try this…

sudo grub-install --recheck --no-rs-codes --modules="part_gpt part_msdos" --efi-directory="/boot/efi" --target="x86_64-efi"
sudo update-grub

i think the windows efi has been deleted after installing manjaro again because i checked the folder /boot/efi/EFI as root and there was no microsoft folder

but i have a backup i made before reinstalling manjaro and in the folder /boot/efi/EFI there is a folder called microsoft there…

here is both folder layouts

folder on my computer

folder on my backup drive

--------System Volume Information

should i copy the microsoft folder and system volume Information and update grub ?

Yes, that’s worth a try.
