Compton not working and can't find the config

,

I installed compton via terminal and i created a dir and a config file to “.config/compton/compton.conf”
When the .conf file is there i have this error:

[ 02/11/2022 14:56:17.186 open_config_file_at WARN ] This compositor has been renamed to "picom", the old config file paths is deprecated. Please replace the "compton"s in the path with "picom"
[ 02/11/2022 14:56:17.187 parse_config_libconfig WARN ] vsync option will take a boolean from now on. "opengl-swc" is interpreted as "true" for compatibility, but this will stop working soon
[ 02/11/2022 14:56:17.187 parse_config_libconfig ERROR ] "paint-on-overlay" has been removed as an option, and the feature is enabled whenever possible

compton&^C
[2]+ Exit 1 compton

If I remove the .conf it is working, but my screen is tearing as alwasy and i cant find the .conf file to edit. **
What can i do?
I only need compton to solve my screen taring problem.

Did you do this?

Now it starts “/.config/picom/compton.conf”
I only have this error, but i think that not important.

compton
[ 02/11/2022 15:08:02.640 session_init WARN ] This compositor has been renamed to "picom", the "compton" binary will not be installed in the future.

But it looks like screen is taring…

I suggest you use picom instead of compton as compton is no longer maintained. Uninstall compton and it’s configs and start from scratch:
