Gnome Visual Theme and Color Accent Options

Howdy,

Something that’s slightly annoyed me since I made my foray into Manjaro Gnome two years ago was the lack of simple theme change and color accent options. I’ve noticed many other distros using Gnome have some sort of theme or accent color change setting available in the Appearance tab of the settings.

So, I’d like to request an easier way to change the theme, or at least the accent colors, of Gnome. Thanks!

Besides Gradience, we also have the Custom Accent Colors GNOME Shell Extension (gnome-shell-extension-custom-accent-colors).

@frost19k @Yochanan Right, though I should correct my wording.
My suggestion is to add accent colors to the Appearance tab, perhaps similar to how Ubuntu has it.
I think it’s even residual from default Gnome, because if you search for it, the description of the Appearance settings page is “Change your background image or the UI colors.” It would be awesome not to have to jump through hoops to change the accent colors.
I do appreciate the responses, though.

I tried using Ubuntu’s patches to do that, but it didn’t work. :man_shrugging:

Either way, both Ubuntu and Manjaro are using workarounds in lieu of the upcoming Libadwaita Recoloring API.
