Gnome panel and all apps missing after update

I went to install something simple through pamac and failed to realize there was a major update in the pipe. PC crashed shortly after but I thought it was done. Had to reboot it cold, it still boots Manjaro but everything is gone (well it’s there but inaccessible from gnome). The Gnome panel is gone, and no apps are shown in the switcher. I just got everything setup again after a broken update like 2 weeks ago so I’m not a fan of doing it again. Not sure whats going on but updates are becoming a scary thing with Manjaro.

Any ideas on how I can get this thing back? I can get to tty and some GUI functions work.

Never had such issues …

Then perform the update again:
sudo pacman-mirrors -f5 && sudo pacman -Syyu
Reboot after that and probably check if you have a custom extension that actually prevents the proper functionality of the session. Also, do you load X11 or wayland?
