Ghostscript hogs all CPU to 100% when it's used for the first time

Since quite recently (Since May IIRC), the gs process hogs all CPU and I have to kill it manually. Sometimes multiple processes and on even other times it keeps spawning a few more of them and I have to keep killing them.

This happens when a file is opened or even when a thumbnail is generated in Dolphin.

Is there a way to investigate this? I tried experimenting with strace but it didn’t give any info.

This keeps happening and I hope some solution can be provided here.

Unstable branch had a ghostscript update ~yesterday …
I am not sure I witnessed similar behavior at any point previously … but if it is indeed an error of ghostscript then maybe the new version will offer some relief.

Thanks for the info, but the bug doesn’t seems to be related to ghostscript itself, according to the upstream devs, because I reported a bug there and got that answer. They suspect it’s a packager issue
