Ghost/bugged window stuck in foreground on Manjaro

Hi all,
I’m running into a persistent issue on Manjaro where a bugged or “ghost” window stays in the foreground. It changes position based on mouse clicks, and when it’s in the middle of the screen I can’t see what I’m clicking, which makes the system very difficult to use.

The stuck element often looks like a Firefox bookmarks toolbar, but I don’t think it’s specific to Firefox. It seems to resemble UI elements from the first application I open after login. The issue reappears after every reboot, and restarting the system multiple times has not helped. The window does not respond to clicks and stays on top of everything.

Any guidance on how to debug or fix this would be appreciated.

In addition to this, there are a couple of other issues that may be related. I normally have Escape mapped to Caps Lock, but now pressing Caps Lock only toggles Caps Lock and no longer acts as Escape. The “connected to wired network” icon in the panel has also changed, and the workspace switcher now shows small icons of the active window in each workspace.

All of these changes appeared at the same time. This makes me suspect the system may be in some kind of troubleshooting mode, or that Cinnamon was recently updated and is behaving incorrectly, but I’m not sure.
