Keyboard stops working after laptop goes to sleep

I’m running the latest update of KDE Plasma Manjaro on a Thinkpad T430. I recently installed it on a partition. It works well, and I’m using it on another laptop at home also. But on this one, after the laptop has gone to sleep, or even sometimes if it has just ‘rested’ for a few minutes but not gone to sleep, the keyboard stops working. Sometimes it’s part of the keyboard, and sometimes it’s the entire thing. When this happens, usually using the scroll wheel on the wireless mouse doesn’t scroll, but rather it zooms in and out. When this happens, the only fix I’ve found is to restart the computer.

Anybody got any suggestions? Where can I look for error messages?

Thanks for any help, guys!
Adrian

Please read this:

I have the same issue once every 3 weeks and I use the following workaround:

  • Log in using the on-screen keyboard and mouse
  • Hibernate the machine using the mouse
  • Start it back up
  • wait 3 seconds

Thank you. I’ll try that.
