It appears that my webcam isn't listed in "Select Camera Device", what do I do now?

My camera is Powerlogic 812h, it was working in Windows 10, how do I make it work in Manjaro.
Please help.

Hi and welcome to the forum
(Going by your way of asking)

To give any meaningful advice, you need to help others to help you:

  • Describe in as much details what application you are using, so people who want to help (or are able to) know where you don’t get that selection.
  • Provide info about your hardware

In System Settings>Removable Devices>Digital Camera>Add(Select Camera Device)
My camera isn’t listed (Powerlogic 812h)

Edited for formating

I assume your camera is an USB device right?
Can you perform these steps:

  1. Make sure your camera is unpluged.
  2. Open a terminal.
  3. Execute journalctl -f
  4. Post the output you get after you plug your Camera in a USB port.
(Use ``` on separate lines, before and after, the output)

Does v4l2-ctl --list-devices show the device?

Yes

webcam (usb-0000:00:12.2-3):
        /dev/video0
        /dev/video1

This part was the info asked for

Which shows the Camera is recognized by Linux.
The output you provided of the command from @pobrn confirms that fact even more…

As can be seen in those log-lines above, your camera is recognized as a “webcam” made by “webcam”, there is no mention of “Powerlogic 812h” there.
Maybe you expected it to be listed like that instead?

Never mind, I installed “Kamoso”, my camera worked. I didn’t know that Manjaro doesn’t have this app out of the box like Windows 10.

Thanks for your time.
