Function keys don't work

Hi! I was trying to overcome this error: when I press some f… keys, they don’t work. For example, I can’t change brightness with F11, F12 (but I can change it in the widget panel and with xbacklight -dec 10). Running showkey —scancodes showed, that F4, F6, F7, F8, F11, F12 output nothing (but F1, F2, F3, F9, F10 work). Setting custom shortcut for changing brightness works too. Strangely fn+F12 works and opens yakuake. The keyboard model is “Generic | Generic 101-key PC” (it has 101 keys, I counted twice). The laptop is around 5 months old. inxi -Fx output:

What about Fn + F1, etc.? Some laptop BIOS has an option for the function keys, have you checked yours?

Have you locked your functions keys? Have you remapped them/ their functions elsewhere?

fn+f1 works, will check bios settings in a minute

Tried combinations of revesed fn mode, foolproof fn key, nothing helped

I think I didn’t. I installed manjaro not long ago

I meant Fn+ any function key vs. just pressing the function key.

fn+f1 ... fn+f12 works in showkey --scancodes. Just pressing fn outputs nothing
