Fstab booting error and graphics card replacement problem

The UUIDs are correct and with the modifications from @bogdancovaciu only appears this error:
“Failed to Start Load Kernel Modules”

Thanks.

Ok, let’s identify those modules. Follow this part:

and report back. We might be able to fix that issue too.

I have done with a usb manjaro installation, does it works too?. The result is:

● systemd-modules-load.service - Load Kernel Modules
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-modules-load.service; static; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: active (exited) since Wed 2019-02-06 13:39:05 UTC; 1min 34s ago
     Docs: man:systemd-modules-load.service(8)
           man:modules-load.d(5)
  Process: 418 ExecStart=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-modules-load (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
 Main PID: 418 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)

Warning: Journal has been rotated since unit was started. Log output is incomplete or unavailable.

It will report strictly for the live environment, not for your installed system …

Oh my god I’m a newbie of newbies jaja, sorry. How can i use this command if i can’t enter in the system?. I have tried in the boot menu but the console give an error with the command “systemctl”.

You can try booting the failsafe option.
When booted do

sudo mkinitcpio -P

note: failsafe boots without modules (your issue here)
Then mkinitcpio rebuild kernels, hopefully with the modules corrected.

Hi @gohlip, in the grub menu i don’t see any failsafe option. I searched any info but i can’t find anything about this failsafe option to boot the system. Sorry for my clumsiness, every post i try to find myself the info.

He means “fallback”. You can find it in the “Advanced options for Manjaro” submenu.

Edit: You also need to change

  • the / (root) partition options from 0 1 to 0 0
  • for /home change to 0 2
  • for swap change to 0 0

Thanks @AgentS.

The same happens, i can’t enter in this mode either, appears a cursor and doesn’t continue.

Check my previous post, I added more.

Is this a new installation?

Post from Live ISO

lsblk -f
inxi -Dpuo
sudo parted -l

From the partition of the installed Manjaro, get and post

  • the line that starts with “HOOKS” in file /etc/mkinitcpio.conf.
  • the first ~10 lines of /etc/default/grub

My fstab is right now:

# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>

Whatever related to graphics card, does not change or “brake” fstab. It was broken from another reason (you changed it, or you used the Partition Manager and you selected to make those changes somehow).

I think you don’t have an fstab error now, just graphics.
So, boot to TTY by editing your grub menu. Read how
How to provide information about your issues

Then in command line (login with your user credentials) and install the proper drivers with mhwd.

Thanks for the info. i have changed the drivers, before a Nvidia now a Radeon and the same happens.

With “journalctl -b -p3” give me:

Please do not post pictures, if possible. There is a way to post text output from TTY, described in the tutorials.

Is this a new/fresh installation, or was it working before the problems?
What were the changes you made exactly (drivers, packages, configuration)?
Can you login with

startx

Hi again. StartX give me an error. Manjaro was working before all this, my graphic card is brokened and i put a new one, this is the history. Sorry for the previous picture.

I don’t know why but the starx log don’t save it.

The Xorg log is from the old GPU/DM configuration, which shows you had nvidia non-free driver.

I can’t find the suggested driver for your new card, I just suppose mhwdor Xorg server would have done a good job on identification.
Maybe you could check if there are leftover files in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ from your previous setup.

A quick temporary solution might be to enable Intel iGPU from BIOS and disable AMD, so you can boot up to GUI and configure later…

But first try the basics from TTY

sudo pacman -Syyu
sudo mkinitcpio -P
sudo update-grub
reboot

If it fails, we need more info (also consider changing GPU in BIOS):

mhwd -l --pci
cat ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log
ls -l /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
ls -l /etc/X11 | grep *org.conf

Hi, mkinitcpio -P don’t work.

mhwd -l --pci

ls -l /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d

total 8
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 266 dic 12 09:19 00-keyboard.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 trupe root 1906 ene 4 10:06 xorg.conf

ls -l /etc/X11 | grep *org.conf didn’t give me anything.

I already delete the files in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ and now works perfect.

Thank you very much for all the help, great community!

That was not supposed to be there. Maybe manually created…

Well done with your work!
Welcome to the fun!!
