Free space on an USB-device

Three apps, three different informations about free space: range 0 to 12 GB free?!!!

Apps used: df, gparted, KDE Partition-Manager

Which app to trust?

Best of all: i’m no adminstrator

Can’t say what is the reason for gparted and kde partition manager to differ, but df probably shows you space without default 5% of reserved blocks. Check tune2fs -m

Yeah that must be it. Here is a good german explanation: "root reserved space" bei ext3/ext4 anpassen | DinoTools
