Yesterday i installed manjaro xfce for the first time. After reading your wiki i was ready for it.
And suprisingly within 1 hour everything was working perfect, including wifi, nvidia, printing.
So a very good result thanks to your site, forum and wiki. I love manjaro very much.

Next job now you’ve got an installation working to your satisfaction: take a full backup and make sure you know how to restore from it if something goes wrong. There are various ways to take backups, I suggest doing a bit of research and seeing which suits you best. (Personally I still prefer the good, old-fashioned dump utility, for EXTn filesystems).
If at all possible, your backups should be on a completely separate physical device to the one your OS is installed on (USB-pluggable disc, second internal disc, etc) in readiness for the day your hard drive fails (they last a long time these days, but still fail eventually).

Hi @hvanessen and welcome to the Manjaro community.
hvanessen:
Yesterday i installed manjaro xfce for the first time. After reading your wiki i was ready for it.
And suprisingly within 1 hour everything was working perfect, including wifi, nvidia, printing.
So a very good result thanks to your site, forum and wiki. I love manjaro very much.
Thanks for your kind words.
I wonder if you’d mind sharing system information with us; which will give others a fine example of hardware that works ‘out of the box’ with Manjaro.
Simply paste the output of the following command into a preformatted text box using the </>
button:
inxi --admin --verbosity=8 --filter --no-host --width
Cheers.

Subscribe via RSS to the Update thread.
Check: Snapshots to roll back.
Check :Backups for data (maybe rsync with back-in-time or whatever u fancy).
Sorted. Congratulations

Kernel: 6.9.12-3-MANJARO
I’d definitely install another Kernel, as this one is EOL and may cause issues with future system updates. I suggest trying linux66
which should work with hardware of that vintage, or linux61
if not.
Those are both LTS (Long Term Support) kernels.
Example:
sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux66
You might also need to run:
sudo update-grub
… but mhwd-kernel
should take care of that.
You can select the Kernel to boot from via the GRUB menu. If you don’t see that, feel free to ask.
Cheers!
ETA: To list available and installed Kernels:
mhwd-kernel -l && mhwd-kernel -li

Agreed. Kernels 6.10 and 6.11 have been available since. Kernel 6.12 (LTS) is expected to be released in November; if you can hold out that long.
You might also wish to configure swap space.
Start a new thread if you’re uncertain how to do this, and I’m sure someone will point you in the right direction.
Cheers.

I followed your(s) advice with a new kernel and a swapfile. Performance is better i noticed.
Thanks
