At face value, yes, unless you performed manual partitioning – you might have easily added the /boot/efi
mount point to a normal fat32 partition, I suppose – but then, I’m not confident that would have successfully booted.
I followed the last few posts in which you stated it was MBR partitioning, so I reacted only to that.
I haven’t used SUSE for a very long time; but I do remember it being a pig. It only took a few months to move away from it.
