Failed to start **Load Kernel Modules**

With the 6.0.11 kernel I again get the message on boot:

[FAILED] Failed to start **Load Kernel Modules**.

The same problem as with the previous two updates:

As before I have reverted to the 5.19 kernel and all is fine.

Is there anything I might need to change|add|remove anywhere to fix this problem or should I just remain patient that a future kernel update may fix the problem?

Hi @kwacorn,

To me, it looks like the kernel version you try and get that error from is MIA. How or why I can’t tell. I’d recommend you boot into the still working one and reinstall the pro0bleematic one, version 6 if I remember correctly:

mhwd-kernel --install linux60

Hope it helps!

Reboot and test afterwards, of course.

can you report

inxi -Fza
sudo mhwd-kernel -li
sudo ls /boot/*
sudo ls /lib/modules/*

Thanks for your responses @Mirdarthos and @stephane.

After my post there was an update to linux60-nvidia-390xx 390.157-2, as mentioned here:

I installed the update and my desktop system was able to boot to a graphical environment with the 6.0.xx kernel, thus apparently fixing the Failed to start **Load Kernel Modules** problem.
