Failed to start Light Display Manager and no sound after update on Cinnamon

Hello,

I’ve updated my system yesterday and after turning it on today I got “greeted” with a “Failed to start Light Display Manager.” message.

Running sudo lightdm manually does work and other than there’s no output sound device detected, everything else works normally.

The lightdm service is not running and if I try starting it I get the following:

journalctl -xeu lightdm.service

For now, rolling back to kernel 5.4 fixes both issues

It looks that way yeah, maybe on the weekend I can further dig into this myself and come up with a better answer. Thanks!
