Failed to boot/not opening manjaro

Hi. I have dual boot manjaro and windows 10
And always running manjaro for 3 years instead of laggy windows

I usually not use windows I have just kept it because I have some files and windows only program

Around 3 months ago I updated my bios through windows and then nothing was there on boot menu I had a live usb of manjaro . So from it I choose my efi partition whenever I need to boot into my system

My disk was running out of space in manjaro so I removed a drive of windows so I can add it in manjaro

But now in live usb whenever I choose a efi partition it just show black screen

Only I can open windows coz after opening it once it was showed up in boot menu but same doesn’t happen with manjaro

I don’t wanna reinstall manjaro I have to finish my ue4build on my potato pc

I have noticed one thing that my partitions have changed before it was 18 for manjaro and now it’s 17

Plz help me out I am really appreciate manjaro

Boot the live USB and post here the output of these commands:

sudo efibootmgr -v
sudo lsblk -f
sudo fdisk -l

i think ’ Partition 12 does not start on physical sector boundary ’ there is a error in manjaro directory coz partition 12 is my system partition of manjaro

and one more thing when i detect efi partition on live usb it shows pop os too which i have tried to install but failed . and ubuntu i have deleted 3 years ago to shift to manjaro.

and so many times i have reinstalled manjaro.

and last thing is that here in output it shows manjaro partition 12 but on live usb when detect efi there are 4 to 5 manjaro efi on on single 17 partition

Thanks. Can you also show the output of:

i just deleted ubuntu using efibootmgr -b 0000 -B

Wouldn’t it be a great idea to label those efi partition to distinguish them? Like EFI_MANJARO.

However, you will need to reinstall grub, since the EFI Upgrade has reset the entries and skipped Manjaro somehow (I believe because of secureboot)… : GRUB/Restore the GRUB Bootloader - Manjaro

it might fells silly but i am not able to enter chroot

Why? Terminal Output?

chroot: cannot change root directory to ‘grub-install’: No such file or directory

this is when i run chroot grub-install /dev/sda

Well… i guess you did not read the wiki page then…

Then unmount it.

the output of this command was nothing .no output

well i enter the chroot and then comes this grub-install: error: /boot/efi doesn’t look like an EFI partition.

and in dolpin this folder is emptyyyy

Well, then you need to mount the correct efi partition to the chroot at /mnt

Well I did everything even it’s added in bootmenu but whenever i boot it . It opens my bios

Oh I got one error when generating grub config it was on os-prober and it got a error it was not able to check sda1 so it only added uefi setting

Dear @GOD1 :bowing_man:

If you do not post outputs, then someone can only grab his glass globe and ask the devil… and you know he has not the best answers to offer.

running os-prober on live usb these are result

[manjaro@manjaro ~]$ sudo os-prober
/dev/sda1@/efi/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi:Windows Boot Manager:Windows:efi
/dev/sda12:Manjaro Linux (21.1.1):ManjaroLinux:linux
grub-probe: error: cannot find a GRUB drive for /dev/sdb1. Check your device.map.
grub-probe: error: cannot find a GRUB drive for /dev/sdb1. Check your device.map.

but on /dev/sda12 chroot while genrating grub config these are result

sh-5.1# grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
