My graphic environment is not loading.
failed to start light display manager
failed to start load/save screen backlight brightness of acpi_video0
I’m running it manually from the console -> sudo systemctl start lightdm
Asus VivoBook S15 M533IA-BQ136
Mate, lightdm-slick-greeter
Kernel 5.8.0-2-MANJARO
stay on kernel 5.7
sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux57
reboot , press Esc for appears Grub
go in detail and select version 57
kernel58 has just started
I think you need the following kernel parameter in your /etc/default/grub file:
acpi_backlight=vendor
This needs to be added in the line starting
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=
between the two apostrophes.
Then save the file and enter
sudo update-grub
Let us know if this solves the issue after a reboot.

I used kernel 5.6 and 5.7 - I had the same problem.
acpi_backlight=vendor - that doesn’t fix the problem with the title. ( failed to start backlight - fixed)
I forgot to tell you that I have an external monitor working as the primary
can you please return
if you need to login try Ctrl+Alt+F2 to F7 )
inxi -Fxza --no-host
sudo systemctl status lightdm.service
sudo journalctl -b0 -p4
