Facebook problem in Google Chrome and Firefox

IPv4 supports only 4.3 billion unique IP addresses. This is why IPv6 was created.

Not everyone uses it yet, though.

Facebook is a nightmare… I frequently see loading circles, have issues with searches, and it’s hard to work out if it is anything to do with networking or Facebook doing stupid stuff.

Searches bring really weird fuzzy results, often failing to bring up things that I’ve literally just seen in a feed…

But generally, ipv6 disabled makes it slighly better… and also the behaviour can be very different from one minute to the next whether I’m using Firefox on Linux, Firefox on my Android, or the Facebook app (official) or the facebook lite…

The title of that thread could also be ā€œFacebook is a problemā€.
And that’s all what you need to know about this platform.

sorry, couldn’t resist posting this statement, even if completely useless. I am glad FB blocked me for violating their stupid terms and conditions

Thanks for all the answers.

Yes, Facebook has been and still is a nuisance for those of us who like and promote Linux on this platform. Facebook has chosen to block DistroWatch.com in particular from this platform. I will not take that discussion further. I would just like to conclude that turning off IPv6 was the solution in this context. Special thanks to linux-aarhus for the information that led to the solution to this problem.
