Ok my question is simple but I have found it is quite difficult to get a handle because of my environment. Currently I am running linux on a ps4 pro. It works really well. But I have a specific desire. I want to make a version of what I run now that is stripped down. I know how to do that in Windows but learning how in Linux has not been fun. I hear tell that I can do it but well. It’s hard to say if I can on a ps4. I am using to my knowledge:
Catjaro (Manjaro 21.0.7 Ornara)
I would like to boot a very old application called “linmugen”. This program has limited specs.
I can run the program but many users will not have my know how so I want the system to go straight to linmugen. Ideally with as few files as possible. If it is helpful I have a modded xbox that does just this that works fine.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I can provide any files you wish. I would describe my skills as capable but I cannot seem to determine the best path forward after hours of reading. I continue to read. Thanks.

If it is based on Manjaro why the Gentoo kernel?
linmugen doesn’t exist as a package for Arch based distributions - I think you are asking the wrong place.

Catjaro is a Manjaro spin for running on PS4 hardware.
If the kernel is indeed a gentoo kernel, it’s not Manjaro any more and thus off-topic but we never got an inxi so I’'ve reopened this question to be able to ask @seantorres

That’s a really old EOL kernel and indeed a gentoo one, so you’ve basically created a monster made out of dead body parts (the Gentoo kernel) and blew life in it using electricity (Manjaro).
Unfortunately, I have to agree with @linux-aarhus and close this thread.
If I were you I would:
try making it work on a new Manjaro install with a recent kernel
Try to back-port those changes into this monster
You’re basically on your own on this one
