Ethernet Network (Intel 82567L-3) [Not Working]

Internet not work Manjaro, ethernet adapter does not want to connect to the network

Network card: Intel Corporation 82567L-3 Gigabit Network connection (Rev 02)

Kernel: 4.19.6
DISTRO: 18.0 Xfce STABLE

already tried:

  • restart Network Manager service (Not Work :x:)
  • modprobe e1000e (Not Work :x:)
  • modprobe r8168 (Not Work :x:)

Pictures instead of text on technical help threads is not the preferred way to post logs or command outputs. Pics are often hard to read, and you can’t copy the output into an internet search engine to find answers to an issue. Pictures also waste bandwidth and storage space on the forums servers unnecessarily. All outputs should be posted on the forum as text, (unless there is absolutely no other way of capturing the text). This makes it far easier to get your technical issue resolved.

We will need more information to assist you in resolving your issue.

How to provide your hardware specs:

When running the commands to detect your hardware, please ensure the following:

Do not have any USB WiFi adapter connected (except the adapter you are attempting to troubleshoot).
Do not have any USB to Ethernet adapter connected (except the adapter you are attempting to troubleshoot).
Do not have “phone tethering” operating while the hardware detection commands are run.

Reboot the computer with all other removable network devices disconnected first, then run the following commands:

Please post the input/outputs of all requested commands via the terminal as text, (not as pics).

Information on how to properly post hardware specs and logs:

Please format any terminal output with three backticks before and after, as shown in this picture:

Please post:

inxi -Fxxzv8
lspci -knnvvv | grep -i net
journalctl -b -1 --no-pager | grep -iE 'enp|eth0|firm'
dmesg | grep -iE 'enp|eth0|firm'
lsmod | sort
hwinfo --netcard --wlan --bluetooth | grep -Ei "model\:|driver\:|status\:|cmd\:|file\:|detected\:" | grep -v "Config Status"

Could you please give a better explanation of what exactly has happened with your ethernet connection. Did you just install and the connection was not working, or did it break after a recent update.

Have you installed and tested other kernels?

Test your networking with kernels 4.19, 4.14, 4.9, and 4.4.

Update your BIOS, (if available).

Disable Wake On LAN in the BIOS

Disable Wake on LAN (WoL) in the Windows driver (if dual booting).

Disable Enhanced C1 (C1E) in the BIOS.

Try unpluging/repluging ethernet cable.

Try a different LAN cable preferably CAT6e or better.

I gave you seven suggestions on how you might fix this problem. Did you even try any of my suggestions? If you did, then what was the result. If you didn’t , then why not might be another question I’d like to know the answer to.

If you expect help and want to get this issue resolved you really need to be more cooperative with those trying to assist you. Just sayin, you’ve got to give a little to get a little.

was a clean installation of the manjaro, nor in the live cd the internet works, I can not change kernel because there is no internet in the system, I can only use the internet When I’m on windows

Can you use phone tethering.

Okay, I’ll try.

the internet connects and disconnects via USB tethering

Run the these commands separately with a few seconds between entering each command in the terminal:

Do not cut and paste all the commands together at once. Enter each command individually.

sudo nmcli networking off

sudo systemctl stop NetworkManager

sudo ip link set enp0s25 down

sudo modprobe -r e1000e

sudo modprobe e1000e

sudo ip link set enp0s25 up

sudo systemctl start NetworkManager

sudo nmcli networking on

Please post the input and output of each command run. Do not post a summary in your words, post the exact input and output of each command.

The e1000e Intel drivers have been having a lot of issues lately, and this might not be easily fixable.

As your computer is almost 10 years old you may be best on an older kernel such as 4.4, 4.9, or 4.14.

:white_check_mark: :white_check_mark: NETWORK VIA USB TETHERING :white_check_mark: :white_check_mark:

working via USB TETHERING

Try installing kernel 4.9

Run the commands I gave, and post all input/output.

Installing Kernel 4.9-49.142-1. :speech_balloon:

Please stop posting screen captures. They are unnecessary now that you have an internet link (and waste forum storage capacity). Text outputs are required on technical help threads not pictures.

If installing an alternate kernel and running the commands I posted does not result in a working LAN connection I will need to review your logs.

I have asked for these outputs twice already. This is the third time I have now had to ask. We are already on the 13th post on this thread and I requested these outputs on my very first post.

If your internet connection is not working now, please ensure that your logs are posted. Failure to supply these logs will result in me no longer being able to assist you as these are required to troubleshoot your issue further.

Make sure your “MTU” is set to “1500” in your connections properties in network manager. Also make sure the speed is set to “auto-negotiation”. Also in the network manager IPv6 tab set the connection to “ignore” IPv6.

Reboot.

Did not work either :x:

Do you control your router. If you do logiin to your routers configuration utility and turn off Ipv6.

Reboot your router.

Ipv6 on router was already off

Manually delete your network connection in Network Manager.

After the connection is deleted, then recreate your wired connection in network manager with the settings I recommended earlier.

Still waiting ^^^
