Yea, but I never installed packages manually. Apps that I installed did that.
So this is how Olli helped me to get it to start:
- uninstall coolercontrol and dataclass-wizard in the package-manager
- open the package-manager and search for “linux515-headers”. if not installed then install it
- check for “base-devel” and if it is missing install it.
- Open a terminal/console and run sensors-detect. Always type yes and follow the procedures. this application will detect the sensors and will create a configuration that the coolercontrol application will need later.
- The next step is to build the packages. This means they will be compiled from source. We have to do it for both. Open a terminal and first run ´pamac build python-dataclass-wizard´
- Next is to do the same with the cooler-app. I checked it and it has to build a lot of additional things so take a MUG of coffee (a large one) or a cold beer because it takes time. It can happen that this will stop because if there are packages missing (i doubt it’s rust). Don’t worry, we will do a simple test (top or flop and we’ll see if it runs smooth). let’s build “pamac build coolercontrol”.
- Now reboot and check if these two services are active ´systemctl status lm_sensors.service´ and ´systemctl status coolercontrold´
- open a terminal and start coolercontrol
