Due to extreme load, this is temporarily being shown to everyone as a logged out user would see it

As the title says; this banner has been there all afternoon but there seems to be no impact on speed or functionality of the Forum, or any noticeable increase in activity here.

Is this on a server shared with other Forums, I wonder? It doesn’t seem to be us causing the excess load.

I cannot reproduce this. No issues here.

I’ve seen it a few times recently, the last was a few days ago when I knocked my keyboard over and didn’t notice for a minute or two. Presumably one or more keys were pressed.

Refresh the page and it should go…at least it did for me.

It did, this time; I’d refreshed the page earlier but it was still there, so evidently fixed now.

P.S. @Yochanan thanks for moving the topic.

I can’t reproduce it, but it may depend on varying loads on the server from minute to minute.

Either way, @linux-aarhus reported a similar issue recently, then @philm said he performed server optimizations and that apparently helped. This all happened while I was asleep, so I never noticed any issues.

I saw this too a day or two ago, but only once and then not anymore. Or i have not noticed.

The reason I ask is it’s the first time I’ve seen this and despite the message, Forum pages have been loading consistently fast all afternoon (in the blink of an eye) on this T440.

I’m on a reasonable broadband connection:

I’ve had episodes recently where pages were taking ages to load (if at all) with no such banner messages.

No - not to my knowledge - but I am not involved in the maintenance.

There has been a major slowdown - to a crawl - and I reported it.

I became concerned because the symptoms was present up to the previous incidents that caused severe crashes.

The current forum instance runs in a container on a vhost upgraded to 8 vCPU to accomodate for the recent slowdowns.

Perhaps the banner is from a cache view?
