Installing video-vesa makes my screen purple and zoomed in

I’m rockin’ a RX5700 and when I went to the hardware config menu to install it and then reboot, my screen was all neon purple and zoomed in, probably at a lower res than my monitor (1920x1080). For now all I have installed is the video-linux and video-modesetting drivers. I haven’t used Linux in awhile and I’m not that experienced with Arch myself.

You actually don’t need to install video-vesa, better remove it.

Don’t do that either. When you installed the system, the proper driver was installed automatically, aka video-linux.

What was your initial issue that made you take the steps to install everything in MHWD ?
