dualboot manjaro and 2x windows7 problems

i just did a dualboot on my MSI LEOPARD GP602QE.
this laptop of mine was running win7 since i first bought it
1st hdd: 500GB hdd is packed of my required softwares and datas.. i can't afford this system not to run when i need it. hence i didn't modify it in slightest manner.
2nd hdd : 1 TB. i restored the more "virgin version" of image of clonezilla of 1st hdd into this hdd. later i installed manjaro linux into the same hdd but different partitions.

manjaro bootup properly, however only the "more virgin version" of win7 that i just restored from clonezilla image into 2nd hdd works.
although manjaro boot menu has 3 os to choose from:

  1. manjaro, (able to boot into)
  2. win7 on sda1, (able to boot into , but with funny horizontal messy lines on the screen initially)
  3. win7 on sdb1. (this should be the original win7 hdd (500GB) that i need unharmed) (but not able to boot up. everytime choose this partition to boot into, it just booted into the above "more virgin version" of win7).
this partition image photo was taken from win7 partition tool.
    see 2 hdd ?
1st is 500GB (this is the one that i won't modify even a bit, because i need it to run when i work).
2nd is 1TB hdd, that i install dualboot of "virgin clone of 1st hdd win7" and manjaro linux
this 2 photos above are taken from gparted of manjaro of hdd sda and sdb.
this is my manjaro boot menu, but both windows are the linked to the same "virgin version of win7 on 1TB hdd)

Yeah, but you have no boot on it.

can you please boot on ISO USB manjaro ( live)
and launch gparted and do a screenshot or
open a terminal and browser on this topic and reports

inxi -Fxxxza
sudo parted -l

ok. wait up. doing it now.

here you go. posted on the 1st post what you wanted me to do.
while you looks into the info, pls teach me what you are looking for and things you get from the info above.
pls explain and teach, so i can grow in the knowledge of manjaro linux as well. thanks

this is a laptop
https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/GP60-2QE-Leopard#down-bios

no free drivers should be used

yours disks are in MBR not GPT with EFI ( windows and also Linux )
you are using logical linux , Manjaro do not install with logical only primary
( each calamares is specific for each distribution DE )

check also UUID

sudo lsblk -fs

as sdb is a "clone" by clonezilla ,you have done a full clone include UUID partitions , and in this case it only choose the first one , no OS cant USE SAME UUID ( windows , os x , linux , BSD ) .

if you planned to backup with clonezilla , you have to unmount or remove disks , be cause if you boot on one , you does not know where any update files systems here it goes UUID sda and sdb are Identical

yes, you are right, they both have the same UID.

i remember there is some way to randomly change the UID right ?

pls advice.. i rather all 2 hdd installed on laptop all the time. it is not practical for me to remove a hdd when i want to use this windows or that.

what do you meant by "no free driver should be used" ?

there is an nvidia drivers graphics

so the question is :
you need to have data from windows 7 ( from sda or from sdb )

  • what was the next step ?
  • what have you planned for sda ( 500Go) and sdb (1To ) ?
  • is it for end windows 7 ( keep data in this case ) ?

yes, i have nvidia graphic card and build in graphic card both.
as for nvidia graphic card driver, i will get it concerned after i solve this prob.
what did you meant by no free driver shld be used ? were u meant free driver for graphic card driver ?

i still want both hdd to be on the laptop all the time, as i need the 500GB win7 for my work, can't afford to mess with it.
and i want the 1TB windows to be working as well, so that if every works fine, i can do the proper setting on it as i used to and then slowly migrate the softwares and data on 500GB win7 to 1TB win7.

thx
andrew

And unfortunately that's hard to fix in your case. If you change the UUID of sdb2 most likely Windows on that drive won't boot any more.

It would be better to do a fresh install of Windows on sdb. Clonezilla is nice for a backup or migration from one drive to another but you should never run the origin and a cloned system in parallel.

By the way:

This is not correct, Manjaro can be installed in a logical partition inside of an extended partition without any problem.

so i understand that you want sda goes to sdb with 1 To ?
in this case use any tool from windows for that.

hii,

i will risk change uuid of cloned win7 located on 1tb. can't touch 500gb drive.
but i don't know if it would shows the positive result or not. because i can't current boot into cloned win7 on 1tb, just can't boot into 500GB win7
