Dual-Monitoring issue with nvidia / prime

Hey guys, I recently install manjaro-KDE with nonfree drivers.

I have "video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-440xx-prime" driver. Yet I struggle to enable my second monitor (or TV )

If I run "nvidia-xconfig", it generates a file ( "/etc/x11/xorg.conf" ) and after reboot the external monitor start working but my main (laptop ) monitor stops .. And if I delete that file - everything is back to square one...

I found that some guys use "prime-select nvidia" but I do not have such command ...

Is there a way to enable the external monitor without such a hassle ?

Yes, that is a limitation of the prime driver: multi-monitor support is still lacking.

  • If battery life is important to you, keep what you have.
  • If flexibility (I.E. External monitor) is more important to you, use the video-nvidia-440xx series instead.
