I am trying to connect a secondary monitor on my Manjaro using ASUS dock with usb-3 connector.
It works perfectly well for network cable, and other usb device such as Keyboard/mouse. But I can’t find a way to use the hdmi port from the dock to extend my display. I tried many things regarding xrand / xorg / displayLink (which I installed with no change anywhere)

Not enough information… You could start with this:
inxi -Fazy
lsusb -vt
xrandr --listmonitors --verbose
Disconnect the hdmi cable and run:
journalctl --boot 0 --grep "\([A-Z][A-Z]\)" --no-hostname --follow
Then connect again and look what is happening there.
Be sure that the hdmi cable is compatible and also that your Laptop is capable to use video over usb-c.

Please check your manual of the laptop for specifications of the usb-c / usb-3 port first. a lot of laptops-designs do not support usb-to-hdmi support ! had the same problem with my acer-laptop. these products are cheap crap.
I’ve got a Latitude 7480, Could it be that only usb-c is able to support HDMI? I mean every other component of the dock work fine: network / mouse / sound etc… I installed displayLink, and displaylink-connect, packages , no luck so far… My only soultion is to unplug the hdmi from the dock and directly plug it to laptop. No big deal, you could argue but I’d love the idea just to have to plug “ONE” single cable (usb-3 or usb-c) to make it work!
