Problem with RX 580 fans being too loud in game

I have a problem with the fans on my Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+. The only game I’m currently still playing (after many years I’ve started again) is Skyrim on Steam. The game itself runs smooth as butter, of course, but it doesn’t take long for the graphics card’s fans to run to the limit and do so continuously. According to the display with watch -n0.3 sensors, the fans then run at 3200 rpm (temperature is at 36°, which would not be necessary). I am therefore looking for a way to limit the fan speed to 2000 rpm under load.
I still have an old i5 2500K (without overclocking) running.

Among other things, I have the page

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Fan_speed_control#AMDGPU_sysfs_fan_control

among others, but it doesn’t really help.

The solution described there only provides a manual fan control, but no limitation of the automatic control.

KDE Plasma 5.27.10, Wayland (under X11 the same problem)

Can you check the temperatures of the graphics cards ?

I check it with sensors, it’s most around 35°, what is not nessecary.

That sounds really good, I’ll try it out as soon as I get the chance (I’m not at my own computer at the moment).

I tried it out this afternoon, but I have to honestly admit that it’s all a bit too much for me. I was able to install the daemon and the GUI, but that was the end of the profile data. Sorry @weingeist, but thanks for the tip anyway!

I’ll soon be getting a used RX 6600 (without XT), which is quite cheap for me, so we’ll see how it behaves then.

PS: I’ve just installed the additional content of the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim. There may have been a patch that improved the performance, because now the fans run a little less obtrusively (approx. 2300 rpm under full load). It’s a bit more bearable for now. The temperatures are important and everything is in the green zone.
