That’s because the Discourse forum keeps track of the last post you read on any given thread, and it also rewrites the URL in the address bar of your browser to point at that post, as opposed to at the opening post.
It can be quite treacherous if you’re not paying attention, because it also depends on where the post is visually located in your browser window. The URL always reflects the post that is only just beginning to get covered by the Manjaro banner.
