Displaylink problem on Tuxedo Red Manjaro

I installed displaylink 5.3.1.34-3 via a yay search and reading earlier in the forum… I have an intec usb- c docking station. My kernal is 5.4.67-1-manjaro. Everything installed fine but when I go to use the monitor plugged into the usb-c connector the response time goes down dramatically. If I type, it is very laggy and unworkable.

I put this in the kernel part because I believe it could be a function of the interaction between evdi and the kernel. If I plug in the hdmi directly to my computer no problem.

How do I fix this?

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

Please read this:

and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

  1. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
  2. This is probably due to your graphics chipset / drivers, not the kernel, but we’ll see after you provide above information…
    :+1:

P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which CPU/GPU you have, …

So I have run the queries you ask for, but the forum will not let me include them it says I can not include links which there are none so… Any other way I can submit the output of your query?

Have you by any chance read the wiki yet regarding DisplayLink?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DisplayLink

I looked at another post which was more focused on installation so no. Yikes ! It looks like it is a hot mess and might not be worth doing?

I’ve looked into it myself a while back because my laptop doesn’t have DP over USB-C, and ended up thinking “I am not even going to deal with this” haha.

Yes, when providing code/output, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text so that the output looks like this:

instead of like this:

so:

```
output in here
```

That is some command! I do not know what is best on this forum to attach or to Cut and Paste so I went with the latter.

I think that is everything,

Please let me know and Thanks !

I’ve edited you post for readability, but you’re on an Intel Chipset and I’m on nVidia, so I can’t help you further but everything looks good from a system perspective, so I can only agree with @realmain.

Read the Arch Wiki docs and then come back and post a solution yourself because I don’t have one of those Tuxedo beauties (yet)…

:sob:

It is sweet to be sure. Thank you for all your help, Hopefully a solution will present itself, it is pretty cool to plug in one usbc cord and run everything.

Sigh,. Thanks again!!!
