DisplayLink Driver

I have the DisplayLink driver from the extra repository working on the 6.18 LTS kernel.

However, it does not work on the 7.1 kernel.

The problem is evdi-dkms failing to build against 7.1.

Is this going to be addressed if next releases of Manjaro?

If not could it be possible to help trying troubleshooting it please?

Possibly the same error have been reported upstream evdi and Kernel v7.1 - any chance to get this working any time soon? · Issue #576 · DisplayLink/evdi · GitHub

Posting the error for starting

..is sorely out of date. Phil added displaylink and evdi-dkms to the Manjaro repos last year without my knowledge, did not add the PKGBUILDs to the Manjaro GitLab and never updated them. I’m assuming he used the AUR PKGBUILD which unpacks the official .run installer. That violates the proprietary license agreement. While the the EULA1 is included in the package, a user is not prompted to agree to it before using the software.

I’ve removed displaylink and evdi-dkms from the Manjaro repos. Up to date versions are available in the AUR (Arch User Repository). The latest version even has preliminary 7.2 kernel support.

Thank you.
I will install from AUR, even though I am a bit paranoid given the latest accident.
That is why I was happy about something in the Manjaro repo.
