Display won't always come back up after suspend

I use suspend/sleep heavily on my system (when I’m away from it, it’s sleeping). After installing Manjaro, I have found that one or both of my displays, especially the one connected over HDMI, does not reliably come back up. This is not predictable or consistent, though I think if I have the PC suspended for a longer period of time (several hours or more) it happens more often. What often happens is both displays display no lock screen/UI, but the cursor is visible. If this happens, the only solution I have is to switch to a terminal and reboot.

Other times, both displays will show the lock screen, but as soon as I enter my password and return to the desktop, the HDMI monitor shuts back off.

I did try the steps on the wiki at “Configure NVIDIA (non-free) settings and load them on Startup” but Xorg seems to “forget” my screen configuration, and I have to reopen nvidia-settings and reconfigure the display. At that point, it usually comes back on without too much issue. Any ideas?

Why this is news for you when was mentioned over and over again on the update announcements? Here is on stable announcement.

Not sure why there’s any need to be rude about it, I’m a new user and I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect that every user will have read every announcement. Also I wouldn’t define once as “over and over again”. The second announcement you linked has nothing to do with my issue, the first one is. But regardless I appreciate the information - my issue is resolved.

Nobody was rude about anything, till you felt the need to call me rude. This is a technical and support forum that has a search function. For future post, see Forum Rules - Manjaro

Manjaro uses unstable and testing branches too. Those help find issues and also inform people to what to be prepared when the packages will hit stable branch. Here is mentioned on testing

The issue you had, was also mentioned before on stable branch, prior to the latest update.

So, was mentioned multiple times.
