Disable Default Keybord permanently

Hello everyone…!
I have a Problem with my keyboard.!
I am using Hp-Notebook(laptop)
I want to disable my default keyboard, and wanna use external keyboard.
How can i do this.?
Is there any way to disable laptop’s default keyboard.?

Note: I have tried with xinput , but it automatically enable when i restart my laptop.

Welcome to the forum!

Disclaimer: I have no experience with xinput ─ I don’t even have it installed.

If your xinput command for disabling the internal keyboard did actually work and the issue is only that it does not survive a reboot, then I would recommend adding the command that you used to your ~/.xinitrc. That file is sourced every time you start up the GUI, so in theory, it should work.

Please read this:

and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

  1. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
  2. Post the xinput commands you’veused so far or if none at a minimum, xinput list:
    • Once without the external keyboard attached
    • Once with the external keyboard attached.

and then we’ll take it from there…

P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which CPU/GPU you have, …
