This seems like the issue @philm describes in the [Stable Update] 2025-09-26 thread:

There was an issue with grub which created black screens on some older systems not having the latest TPM specs. The regression was caused by: grub.git - GNU GRUB. We applied a fix to grub. Those who are affected need a recovery image to fix their installation via chroot: GRUB/Restore the GRUB Bootloader - Manjaro

• chroot into your system
• update your system once more
• reinstall grub if install-grub package is not pre-installed

Hmm, needs more investigation.
