Debugging xpad driver

#1

I’m trying to run and debug xpad as I have a controller that it is not recognising and want it to work.

I downloaded and follw the instructions here:

sudo dkms remove -m xpad -v 0.4 --all
sudo dkms install -m xpad -v 0.4

the output from these two commands are here: https://pastebin.com/efgYiv6C

I assume this uninstalls and compiles then installs the new driver.

the problem is I have added into the xpad.c file:
printk(“BLAH”);

and so I would expect that to show up in the dmesg log. I have in a separate console:
dmesg --level=debug --follow

but nothing appears to be displaying.
