Cyberpunk 2077 nativ crashed since the Update, with Steam Proton experimental it works
There is no native version. It’s a Windows game so Proton is needed to run it. See ProtonDB
It sounds like you were using the default Proton version (currently 7.0-5), then switched to Experimental.
I have tested something
with Proton Experimental the Game crash immediately
with Proton 7.0-5 and no launch option the Game works
with Proton 7.0-5 and launch option ( VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_1 %command% ) Game crash
Until now, I have always played with Proton Experimental and these launch options for DLSS and RT.

I’m using GE Proton using the following launch options with no issues:
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr11 VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_1 %command% -dx12
I don’t know anything about GE Proton.
I have tested further.
With PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1
the game works with DLSS.
As soon as I set one of the vk3d options, the game hangs.
I have noticed that it works in the background and as soon as it is in the foreground it hangs.
Could it be the compositer ?
Update : the compositer is not
I have found the solution. I hope so.
The Full Screen option crashes the intro at start-up. If you wait long enough it works.
Frameless window was the solution.
Proton Experimental works.
Could someone please verify this.
GE Proton has a lot of game specific tweaks that really help with some games.
Reading Protondb looks like it works best with GE
