CyberGhost VPN on Manjaro

New Manjaro user here. CyberGhost VPN doesn’t have an official build for Manjaro or other Arch based Linux. Is there a way to install it?

it’s not in the official repos but you can install it from the aur.

There is a version which can be built via the AUR;

pamac build cyberghostvpn

Keep in mind that use of the AUR is officially unsupported in Manjaro (or Arch); this effectively means you are on your own.

Issues should instead be reported directly to either the AUR package maintainer or upstream.

I hope this helps. Cheers.

I tried setting it up but after writing my account info i got this error

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "", line 762, in <module>
File "", line 371, in main

File "libs/", line 90, in getConfig
Exception: The section "account" is missing configuration file!
[31648] Failed to execute script 'cyberghostvpn' due to unhandled exception!

Can you help me with that? Thanks in advance!

No, sorry.

Contact the maintainer of the package (at the AUR page) for help with this package (you will need to create an account). It has already been explained that no help will likely be offered by Manjaro.

That said, I’d tend to pay attention to this line:

Good luck.

I found a solution. Thanks for showing me package

Would you mind to share that solution please?
So the next one reading this will know what to do.

I found the following solution on the internet:

Use rm -R .cyberghost on your home directory and then sudo cyberghostvpn --setup again. This should solve the problem.

Hope this helps!

I just saw a very similar explanation in the comments of the packages AUR page

Looks like the setup process was interrupted the first time around and you had to start it again.
