CS:GO used to work fine until the NVIDIA updated to 418.56 (20th April), now no text is being rendered. I searched on internet, but with no luck.
I think this might have been caused by the latest update to freetype2.
You could try installing the old package (see here: The game “legend of grimrock” from steam won’t start.) at least to confirm that this is the issue (or not). [Can't promise it won't cause oddities somewhere else though...]
Sadly this didn't fix it for me
Also tried to upgrade freetype2, but the problems still persists.
In mate i had to install
steam-fonts from the aur, however in my deepin desktop i did not have to do this, not figured out why that is yet.
I have already installed them.
OK, Have you tried running steam from the terminal and looking for errors?
Manjaro steam native configuration found! ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64): ignored.
But runs just fine.
Heya I can confirm this issue.
To solve it I run Steam via:
And this additional launch settings:
-nojoy -novid -d3d9ex -high
This works, thanks
