I believe the pipewire package got corrupted after a failed update. In short, I was, updating the system using Pamac and it randomly closed the window. I had to resume the update using manjaro-chroot with an usb because I couldn’t login due to the system not finding the kernel. When I finally got into the system I found I had no sound. Is there a correct way to solve this? If I even try to use alsamixer I get

Thanks for the help. Changed the pacman -Qi pipewire output to english. Sorry about that.
While it is possible to see what the different lines are, I’ll give you a tip, that preceding a CLI command with LC_ALL=C switches locale for this instance of the command so that the results are in English.
edit: Ofc, this is provided there’s a localization done in the command or application you are running.

Which version of Pamac GUI is installed - pamac-gtk or pamac-gtk3?

ArchWiki - PipeWire - Session Manager
PipeWire implements no connection logic internally. The burden of watching for new streams and connecting them to the appropriate output device or application is left to an external component known as a session manager.
WirePlumber is the recommended session manager.
pipewire-media-session is deprecated and no longer recommended. It was mostly implemented for testing and as an example for building new session managers.
If packages were updated successfully in chroot pipewire was the only corrupted package and dependency packages were not corrupted
I suggest reinstall the corrupted package
pamac reinstall pipewire
and install WirePlumber to replace pipewire-media-session

I deleted the corrupted package but I get exactly the same output when I try to reinstall pipewire
Try installing uncorrupted version of package from one of Manjaro’s mirrors
sudo pacman -U https://mirror.alpix.eu/manjaro/stable/extra/x86_64/pipewire-1%3A1.4.8-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
If that does not work, download the package and reinstall locally
I got the same output:
> sudo pacman -U https://mirror.alpix.eu/manjaro/stable/extra/x86_64/pipewire-1%3A1.4.8-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

PipeWire 1.4.9 was released 2025-10-09 so a package update will probably resolve issue with corrupted package soon
After doing that I could succesfully install the pipewire package again. Thanks!

If PipeWire has been reinstalled correctly, install pamac-gtk3 and wireplumber to replace pamac-gtk pipewire-media-session
Out of curiosity, does specifying the mirror’s address bypass pacman preferring its cache, or what is happening here? I was half expecting pacman trying to be lazy and just go for the corrupted package in the cache.

Yes, it bypass the cache. With -U it uses the specified url or file path. Useful for emergencies.
