So I’m booting manjaro-gnome-21.1.4-210927-linux513.iso on a brand new laptop (with the aim of installing) and I can connect to LAN and also WIFI (it says “connected” but with a question-mark in the symbol), but I cannot connect to the Internet. Had the same problem with Debian-based Linux-distros as well. What can I do?
So not a Manjaro issue per se.
How do you connect to the internet?
Check your router.
Can you connect to the internet with other devices on your lan?
Please post output of:
$ ping -c5 forum.manjaro org
$ ping -c5 135.181.38.249
Well, I can connect LAN and WIFI with other devices. And to top that I just found out that I can connect via WIFI-bridge on my smartphone that is connected to the same WIFI. It|s the same on other distros as well.
$ ping -c5 forum.manjaro org
Name or service not known
$ ping -c5 135.181.38.249
Network is unreachable
Can you connect to the internet going directly from computer to modem? Sounds like a router configuration issue. MAC address filtering, for instance.

I did reset the router to default settings and now it works! I tried and tried for hours and it was that easy.
