Colors displaying incorrectly after update/reboot

my install is stock. i’d rather not mess with bumblebee. Why would this happen months after installation?

probably something was introduced into the open source drivers or kernels? …

well, that sucks. my second monitor working at all is more a priority than my laptop display working properly, but still a drag

well the inxi output shows that your card could run the 470 drivers, while the mhwd lists only the bumblebee 390 series… you can give it a try by installing them:

sudo mhwd -i pci video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-470xx-prime

if no errors, reboot… if you got stuck at a black screen, enter into tty: ctrl+alt+f2 or f1-f6 keys, enter your username and password, and remove them:

sudo mhwd -r pci video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-470xx-prime

reinstall the open source one just in case:

sudo mhwd -a pci free 0300

reboot:
systemctl reboot

no issues installing the drivers, but problem persists

I’ve now tried a few icc color profiles. Each changes the display a bit, but unfortunately nothing is the way it needs to be. I don’t have any tools for color calibration, but it would be cool to manually adjust contrast, etc. Finding an app to do that is proving to be a pain

post output from:
inxi -xG
to see if the nvidia drivers are loaded…

doesnt your monitor have built in color calibration?

inxi -xG  ✔

The monitor in question is my laptop screen. Whether it autocalibrates, i do not know, but the “calibrate” button in the settings/colors section where icc profiles can be added is not active

the driver is loaded…
download the latest manjaro iso, and boot into the live session and see if it has the same issue…

I had to wait all this time for my new internet provider to hook things up (germany is a joke).

Did another standard system update from pacman, and lo and behold, the laptop screen works normally again

All’s well that ends well ?
Glad you are back to running normally again.

i guess so. good timing, as i’ll need my laptop outside of my comfy desk tomorrow. We’ll see what happens when i power up somewhere else

lol, new update changed it back. ugh
