Chuwi GemiBook Pro Touchpad not working

I have installed Manjaro KDE on my Chuwi GemiBook Pro, but the touchpad does not work. I saw a thread saying that it works with the LTS kernel (5.10.83-1) or 5.15.6-2, but I have 5.15.193-1, 6.12.48-1 and 6.17.1-0 installed. But it doesn’t work with any of them.
Any advice?

Did you test with 5.10 or 5.4 kernel series? What is the output of cat /proc/bus/input/devices

Try to disable ACPI D3Cold in BIOS settings …

Thanks philm, I just installed kernel 5.10.244-1 and it works with that one. It seems that all subsequent kernels have the same problem with the Chuwi touchpad. However, there is no sound. One problem is fixed, but another arises…

You might also want to consider switching your Plasma session from X11 to Wayland. Plasma’s development nowadays is almost entirely focused on Wayland.

You can change your Plasma session from X11 to Wayland by selecting the session type at the login screen (Wayland is now KDE’s default for Plasma).

If you have set up autologin to skip the password screen, you can change to a Wayland session by opening System Settings → Colors & Themes → Login Screen (SDDM) → Behavior.

If either of the issues you are experiencing still exist after trying Wayland, then further investigation may require more detailed system information than was provided by the inxi -F output in your original post:

Please provide the output of:

inxi --filter --verbosity=8

or the short form (preferred):

inxi -zv8

Having no sound is a known issue with that device. I linked some discussions about that problem as well.

Thank you for your help. It seems that the solution was relatively simple. Disable ACPI D3Cold in the BIOS. Everything works, even with the latest kernel 6.17.1.
