Can't run Steam (Proton) games anymore

Hi,
Steam with Proton has always worked wonderful for me, but since the last update of Proton I’m unable to run Satisfactory and Mafia or any other Proton game anymore…
For example, when i start Satisfactory everything seems fine, the banner of the game appears, but then it just exists without any error message.
I thought it could be something wrong with the Proton update, so I uninstalled Satisfactory and Proton too and then reinstalled Satisfactory but it didn’t change anything.

BTW: I’ve also tried to force the game to use various Proton versions, like 5.13 (which always worked until now), experimental, and Proton GE 6.0 from the AUR, but every version showed the same behaviour :confused:

Looks like you’re also using MangoHUD. Have you tried it without it enabled? Asking because it seems to fail right after that conf file is loaded.

This can be safely ignored according to the arch wiki

Not sure what this is, not sure it is something to act upon.
See no clues as to why games don’t start.
Have you checked that the correct drivers for your system are active?
What are you starting steam with? This might be a cause?

I’ve set MANGOHUD=1 in the .zprofile and indeed it seems like this prevented Satisfactory and any other Steam Proton game from running.

Sad that it doesn’t work with this great overlay anymore tho

I think it’s mainly just Proton 5.13 and forward. They changed something that makes vulkan layers not work. It’s the same reason why I can’t use vkBasalt (Reshade for Linux) with Proton 5.13.
