Can't install manjaro "There are no partitions to install on"

Hello all
still on windows on an asus laptop
i followed the instructions:
created a bootable usb
disabled secure boot and fast boot.
i have no csm support in my bios
RAID seems to be disabled in bios
i have the latest Bios version installed.

but the main solution that appears on most of the places i looked at is enable AHCI instead of intel RST;
the issue is that Every time i try to change this setting,my bios freezes and i can’t save and exit and have to force shutdown.

any idea on what i can do about it or a workaround that might work?

i managed to fix it and I’ll post how later, but right now i have a more urgent post installation issue.

That is a hardware issue …

Do you know if there are updates for your BIOS? When was the last update?

@AlbertoSalviaNovella it’s the latest bios version.

as i said, apparently i manged to sort it out since the Manjaro installer was able to see the hard disk after i made the change.
it’s a known issue for many people that try to install a linux distro.
as i browsed for solutions,a main one that kept coming back was to:
1.Run Command Prompt as Admin
2. Invoke a Safe Mode boot with the command: bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal
3. Restart the PC and enter your BIOS during bootup.
4. Change from IDE to AHCI mode then Save & Exit

then i immediately entered the the boot menu, chose the live usb and the hard drive was then recognized.

or maybe it was since i used the mouse in the Bios this time instead of the Keyboard cursors?? any how it seems to have worked for me.

Some times the BIOS just behaves differently when the computer shut downs compared with rebooting.

you seem to be right as in my other thread you responded to that’s exactly what happened:
