im new user for manjaro but enjoy it. external display is import for my work. except the trouble be resloved. Thanks.

Hi @0hi0, and welcome!

The xrandr --listproviders doesn’t list the monitors. For that you have to use xranr --listmonitors:

$ xrandr --listproviders
Providers: number : 1
Provider 0: id: 0x1b7 cap: 0x1, Source Output crtcs: 4 outputs: 6 associated providers: 0 name:NVIDIA-0

$ xrandr --listmonitors
Monitors: 2
0: +*HDMI-0 2560/673x1080/284+0+0  HDMI-0
1: +DVI-D-0 2560/673x1080/284+2560+0  DVI-D-0

Edit:

Also, seeing

Just reminds me that except for the above, I’m afraid I won’t be able to help, since I know nothing about hybrid graphics. I only have 1 (one) CPU.

Hi, i just list my montors. why only one monitor(labtop’s) in list. im sure im put the HDMI line in my interface

[cafe@cafe-local ~]$ xrandr --listmonitors
Monitors: 1
 0: +*eDP-1 2560/381x1440/214+0+0  eDP-1

Try the following:

prime-run xrandr --listmonitors

…and provide the output please.

still appricicate your help :smiley:

OK, my knowledge has reached its limits. I don’t know further. All I can do is point you to some light reading:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PRIME

do you have the ibt parameter added? in the inxi output its not shown and in the grub output it is, so post output from:
head /etc/default/grub
ls /etc/modprobe.d
pacman -Qs 'optimus|prim|bbswitch'
find /etc/X11/ -name "*.conf"

i have add the ibt in the grub file. the output is blew here:

did you rerun sudo update-grub after you added the ibt parameter?
remove optimus:
sudo pacman -Rs optimus-manager
now check again with:

find /etc/X11/ -name "*.conf"

there should be no longer any optimus config, if its there, remove it;
now install optimus again:

sudo pacman -S optimus-manager optimus-manager-qt

reboot and try again

Its my fault, I forgot to run sudo update-grub, now my external montior can work for second workspace. But I have a new issue with: When process exit, the monitor view will stay in the monitor screen(actually the process already has exit), When I try mod+entry open a terminal, the view will change to Termintor, try to exit, the Terminal view will stay again.Like this:

what shoud I do can fix it ? Thanks

well i have no idea, create a new test user from system settings, reboot, log in with the test user, and see if it has the same issue

Ok I will try later, Thank you very much
