Can't change system language

I try to change it with manjaro settings manager, didnt work. then i try to change it with locale.gen. didnt work neither. how can i change the language with other ways?

like i said, i try the locale.gen thing. i still cant change the language. plus, in the lock screen, it only shows my current language.

i wrote the command, sudo localectl set-locale LANG=en_US.UTF-8

but when i wrote locate, the output is:

LANG=tr_TR.utf8
LC_CTYPE="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_NUMERIC="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_TIME="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_COLLATE="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_MONETARY="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_MESSAGES="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_PAPER="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_NAME="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_ADDRESS="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_TELEPHONE="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="tr_TR.utf8"
LC_ALL=

but in here, manjaro settings looks like this:

Have you edited /etc/default/locale?

no, it says all turkish. i will edit it to english right now.

And for good measure, reboot after you’ve saved the changes.

i rebooted, nothing changed. i typed locale in terminal and it was the same, turkish. then i looked up the file “locale” you mentioned. it was english like i set.

What about /etc/locale.conf?

it is set to LANG=en_US.UTF-8 .
i also uncomment en_US in the locale.gen and then type sudo locale-gen in terminal. then i reboot. nothing changes.

Then I’m afraid I can no longer be of assistance to you. If you followed my advice and you did everything in the tutorial, then I don’t know why it’s not working for you. :man_shrugging:

thanks anyway aragorn.
