Can't change gnome desktop layout

Hi,
It’s been a while (I think since a major update on Manjaro) that I can’t change the layout of my desktop. The dark theme is switched on and off for no reason, it is on normally. And the Arc Menu is not usable now. I wonder what can cause this, any idea?

I can reinstall the OS but I want to be able to understand the problem and to be able to solve it manually.

My config:

Hi,
Please check the gnome extensions. Maybe You have enabled the Night theme switcher (or similar). Disable it.

Hi,
Thanks for your response.
My Night theme is already disabled and I can’t switch to, for example, Manjaro Legacy or Traditionnal or Unity etc… When I change the layout the bar at the bottom and at the top stays and nothing seems to change it.

hi
Maybe You have active gnome-layout-swither program. In settings, there are option to set “automatic dark theme” → turn this off.

Hi,
It is already switched off, it doesn’t solve the problem.
Maybe I should reformat, I can’t find any solutions and any people having the same problem it seems.

To get the layout switcher to tell what went wrong when switching, starting it from a terminal is an option.
$ gnome-layout-switcher Should open the application and on the terminal it might reveal why the switching fails.

Damn it! Thanks @Hanzel I really didn’t thought about that…I should have done it first.
Here is the output of $ gnome-layout-switcher :

current layout: classic
active layout: classic
active layout: unity

Layout applied

It is arcmenu that seems to be now incompatible but I want to keep it. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but the problem is not solved.
Any ideas?

I don’t use this specific extension. This issue has a solution that might work for you to. It looks related.

The cache of one extension I use is loated ~/.cache/[extentionname]
The arcmenu cache might be there.

Hi,
I will close this topic. the solution proposed by @Hanzel didn’t work, although it solve a part of the problem. I have now artifacts that shows up on my screen. I will resolve first this issue. This subject is closed, thanks everyone for your attention and your help.
