Can't add a custom menu entry to dock

So i have made new .desktop for a jar , which shows up in the applications but there’s no option to add to favorite in the dock(dash to dock) it any suggestions?

Hi @Toxicus, and welcome!

Have you tied a nornal drag and drop? From the Application launcher menu to your dock?

I use Cairo Dock with KDE and was quite surprised that it worked for me.

drag n drop to the dock only works for me with applications that were installed over add/remove software. But something like meshroom (which is not) or folders that I would like to put in the dock or even just moving stuff to the trash icon on the dock doesnt work.
