System Shock: Enhanced Edition Music Won't Play

As the title says, all other sounds in the game work, sound effects, voice logs, etc. I’ve been on an adventure into Timidity++ and Fluidsynth to try to get this music working to no avail. I have the game installed with Wine through Lutris.

(Somewhat related, if anyone is reading this and has experience with System Shock 2, the videos won’t play for the FMVs. Sound is there but no visuals.)

This is perhaps a similarly related issue to here.

Perhaps TheGameSquid’s comment on ProtonDB may help.

https://www.protondb.com/app/410710

I don’t know what I’m doing here. TheGameSquid’s comment and ProtonDB are for Proton in Steam. I have SS:EE installed with Wine. Is there a way to set these launch options in Lutris?

edit: I keep trying all of these different things with fluidsynth and timidity++, like fluidsynth --audio-driver=alsa /usr/share/sounds/sf2/FluidR3_GM.sf2 as every thread keeps suggesting but nothing is changing. I am at a loss.

Fixed it! It seems I had a type-o when I was editing my conf.d fluidsynth file. Following the ArchWiki page for Fluidsynth should fix the music issue in the game. I had to change from alsa to pulseaudio as mentioned in the troubleshooting section.

Thank you @yochanan and @weingeist!
