Cannot wake up after suspend when virtualization technology turn on


i have this issue for very long time but until now i cannot solve this problem yet.
whenever i use virtualization technology turn on from bios my linux machine cannot wake up after suspend. my monitor become blank and cannot do anything excep force shutdown.
when i disable that virtualization technology the suspend and wake up feature is normal.

my laptop is hp 430 and i am currently use linux 419 kernel

See if in the BIOS you can switch between S3(STP) and S1(POS) in power management.


sorry there are no option like that in my bios…


I would try setting a grub boot parameter to fix this.

Try either of the following fixes to see if they correct your issue.

You could try the"amd_iommu=on iommu=pt" boot options if you have an AMD CPU.

Edit /etc/default/grub and add amd_iommu=on iommu=pt to the the end of the load line:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=“amd_iommu=on iommu=pt”


You could try the intel_iommu=on iommu=pt boot options instead (if you have an Intel processor).
