Cannot switch to nouveau

Hi,

I want to switch from nvidia340.x to nouveau. Perhaps I do something wrong ?!?

Graphics: Device-1: NVIDIA G86M [Quadro NVS 140M] driver: nvidia v: 340.108
           Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.10 driver: nvidia resolution: 1440x900~60Hz
           OpenGL: renderer: Quadro NVS 140M/PCIe/SSE2 v: 3.3.0 NVIDIA 340.108

First I used “Auto Install Open-Souce Driver” in the Plasma - hardwareconfig.

That works without errors.
After a reboot I saw the same result:

Graphics: Device-1: NVIDIA G86M [Quadro NVS 140M] driver: nvidia v: 340.108
           Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.10 driver: nvidia resolution: 1440x900~60Hz
           OpenGL: renderer: Quadro NVS 140M/PCIe/SSE2 v: 3.3.0 NVIDIA 340.108

As second I stopped plasma and run from the console
sudo mhwd -f -a pci free 0300

That works without errors but after a reboot I am running with nvidia340 again

Graphics: Device-1: NVIDIA G86M [Quadro NVS 140M] driver: nvidia v: 340.108
           Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.10 driver: nvidia resolution: 1440x900~60Hz
           OpenGL: renderer: Quadro NVS 140M/PCIe/SSE2 v: 3.3.0 NVIDIA 340.108

First of all I read the manjaro - wiki but I dont´t know, what is wrong with me.

Did you properly deleted old drivers?
If you are using GUI you can just right-click on drivers and click ununstall.

No, @Paradox,

I didn`t delete drivers.

Which drivers should I delete?
Dou you mean the nvidia340?

regards
caho

Now, I deletet the .340 drivers with pamac.

After reboot system has a blackscreen. I logged in into tty and restored my system with timeshift.

What should I do to use the nouveau - driver?

caho

Just use GUI - Hardwarekonfiguration. Right-Click and uninstall.
